As a returning visitor I want to thank you for your interest. Thanks for visiting!
I had quite a few chuckles when I read that article about Studying Japanese at the Yamasa Institute In Okazaki, on a site called “Associated Content”. Just read the part about the Student Village. Really, now you can understand why I moved from there after a month. Like it is explained in the article, the Student Village is nowhere as clean as it was showed on the Yamasa Web Site. I even wrote about it in 2006, in my post called Another review of the Yamasa Institute: The Student Village.
I still recommend to AIJP students to consider another accommodation than the Student Village. If you can, even Leopalace 21 is a good choice.
Hello, I am applying for the 2-year AIJP and was wondering if you could answer a question I have about the application essay. I noticed it is divided into 4 sections but I’m confused about what kind of format Yamasa is looking for. A traditional essay format with an introduction and conclusion or do they just want me to fill-in a paragraph for each question.
Thanks in advance,
L
Hi, its been a couple of days since I replied to you personally by email. I hope everything is well and that your application to Yamasa is moving forward. Should you have any other question feel to drop me a line.
Hi, I just received my student visa confirmation email. I’m really excited about the program and still can’t believe I will be there in April. Thanks again for your advice.
That great news! Congratulations on your student visa!
I will be myself in Okazaki in November-December of this year. I might drop by Yamasa.
Hi!
I’m going to Yamasa this May and I was trying to decide where to stay, and I chanced upon your blog when I was looking for reviews.
I was considering staying in the Student Village for the social life, but based on your review (and the one you included in your link) that doesn’t sound like a very good idea! Would you recommend, say, Yamasa Villa 1? Or will that be very lonely? I will only be there for six weeks though!
Thanks for helping out a very indecisive soul!
K.
For the social life, your classmate will be more than up to the challenge. There is always a sempai who knows the best place to go. The best is to go out, not to stay inside
For a month I stayed at the village, I met many different people, it was a good option for meeting people. Budget wise, for such a short stay, the village might still be the best choice. If budget is not an issue, Yamasa Villa 3 & 4 are a better choice. It is a short walk from the school and the student bar. All my friends were satisfied with the accommodation.
If you make you mind on the student village, maybe you can report on any improvement when you will be there?
Best of luck,
j.
