Haha I don’t think it will be very strong, but who knows. Tomorrow morning around 9am it should hit us, or maybe not? Let hope Yutu is just a scare like #1.

Gaming: Cerise Magazine

Posted on Tuesday 8 May 2007

Congrats to tekanji for the launch of her new gaming ezine. Taken from the official site: Cerise Magazine

At its core, Cerise is a resource by and for women gamers. We are dedicated to increasing the voices of underrepresented identities in the game develop industries and in gamer communities.

Cerise is a monthly publication released in the form on an online magazine that covers video games, tabletop games, and live action role-playing. Our features include industry news, profiles of gender-inclusive game modules, spotlights of game developers and prominent voices in gamer communities, game reviews, art, and editorials. We have an open submissions policy.

Although gender is the foremost focus of Cerise, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive space for individuals of all identities traditionally underrepresented in the mainstream, and for our allies who support our movement to increase our presence and representation in the game industry. We are a feminist publication and oppose all forms of oppression and the ways in which that oppression manifests itself in game communities in ways that hurt women, transgender individuals, queer-identified people, people of color, people with disabilities, and other marginalized individuals. We hope that our inclusive philosophy will propagate to help the game industry and culture at large become an environment welcoming to people of all identities.

With titles such as; 5 Steps to Attract Girl Gamers, Girls Don’t Play Video Games and more, this magazine is consequent with the ideas expressed on shrub.com
We haven’t spoke in a long time, but I still appreciate her refeshing views on many subjects.
And the cover is just funny.

Funny Remarks

Posted on Tuesday 8 May 2007

Regarding my last post I had the surprise to receive some feedback. Regarding my recommendation of book to read before going to Japan. It sure sounds wierd, the way I made the link but in no way I am trying to dupe anybody. You judge by yourself the value of this offer. You did came to Japan based on affirmations made by a certain website did you?

Anyway it was great to have some feedback, thanks for the visit :-)

I am still working on that excel spreadsheet that will reveal how much it really cost to live in Japan at Yamasa accomodation. Fees for utilities, entertainment and food. I have kept every receipt.

Earning money in Japan

Posted on Monday 7 May 2007

Since I have learned last week that I needed to buy expensive medication for my recently discovered asthma, I have increased my english teaching hours. For prospective students of the Yamasa Institute, teaching english can easily make you enough money to live confortably in Japan for 2 years. Anybody can be an english teacher. They are not looking for a teacher, but for a native english speaker. If you are interested in learning how YOU could teach english in Japan and make a living I invite you to look at this special section about a nice addition to your book collection to read before coming to Yamasa. I am not even a natice english speaker and I can do it, you can surely do it too. Read how I did it and start planning your life in Japan.

What is Flutide?

Posted on Wednesday 2 May 2007

I got another nice present this week. The name is Flutide. I have never heard of this in Canada, so I had to make some researches. I could be wrong but it is highly probable that the generic name of that drug is Fluticasone Propionate. In a “conviniant” dose of 200 microgrames, it is a real relief to know that I must more than ever brush my tongue every day.

Hokunalin, the live test

Posted on Wednesday 2 May 2007

Hello all, I am currently trying the relatively new and unknown medication called Hokunalin. In fact it is a transderm tape releasing the drug called tulobuterol. It is a Japanese invention and is currently only used in Japan and Germany. It is prescribded in a bid to avoid heart complication normaly associated with medication such as Salbutamol / albuterol. My daily dose of Hokunalin is 2mg. I can’t take more than 1 shower or bath a day. Every 24h I must replace the patch. It is still more conviniant than carring about taking inhaled drugs. I plan on updating you from time to time on this live experiment.

Utilities Cost Report

Posted on Friday 13 April 2007

Water consumption down! :
It appears that my water consumption reduction plan have been working, water usage is down from 17 cubic meters to 9 cubic meters. A ridiculous reduction of 600yens on 2 months… It appears that I have a sewage fee of 1470yens per month.

Gas consumption down! : cold weather is over! :
Price for the gas is also going down as the demand follows. 14 cubic meters down to 9 cubic meters resulting in an economy of 1000yens.
