Fun sending packages again

My nice packages arrived safely to Canada as indicated by the Japan Post website. Apparently the trick of using what they wrongly call an “invoice” here worked. (Correct term is a packing list) Again for some stupid reason the Okazaki Post office workers are convinced that Canada’s customs ask for each of the items of a box to be individually weighted!!! Sure each item country’s of origin, even the foams, yeah sure I understand, but the weight? How could I possibly weight bubble wrap plastics? So don’t be surprised, everything I will send will have an “invoice”. This is actually the 5th times it happens; that they question my custom declaration. I tried with 3 different people and each time we got the scared look. Oh no! A package to Canada! The strictest country ever! This is Japan I guess…

The package as been received and they did not charge any custom fee. Thank you for the package, it’s really beautiful !! There is some things that we don’t know what it is, but we will figure it out we we’ll open the package.

Now, I will have to throw a party to split up the gifts amongst eastern township people. It will be in may, april is kind of busy…

I nearly forgot… did you send a package to the Gatineau-Hull gang or I have to split with them too?

You dont need to split the package with the ” Gatineau-Hull gang ” I will send them something else later. I will reply to your email later during the week. Good to know you did not had any trouble. It means that the guys at the “Japan Post Office” are way off track! I will use the same method when I will move back.
