Yesterday was our Old Yamasa “N†Class reunion. It was Donna’s idea, but she had the help of Willem. I just learn he have a website. So far, its one of the most interesting website about life in Japan. The main point of this website is … lots and lots and lots of pictures. You can take a look here: Willem goes Japan
Anyway after the dinner we went to Zigzag. Our poor friend Jimmy was almost crying, it was heartbreaking. There are rumors that something might have happened with one of the teachers. This school is very strange; they don’t seem to have any ethical rules. It is my opinion that Yamasa should enforce some sort of code of conduct for the teachers and have mechanism available in case of problems. Yamasa have to think about that absolutely. Since they are now growing at faster pace then ever before, this will augment the stress on the staff. Iijima-san from the student office already left for personal reason, but I have heard it is because she could not enjoy the job anymore. So now Yamasa is turning itself intensively to part-time employment. The days of having the staff at Yamasa know your name by heart may be over soon.
And now for the good news, I had good results on my last exam. But still by Japanese standard its unacceptable. I don’t mind, 85.5% is my highest grade ever at this Japanese school. But I really want to review again chapter 26 to 35 one more time. It feels so good to be confident with the grammar you learn, which right now I am not. This term I had the chance of doing again chapter 14 to 25. This was the most brilliant decision ever. It removes a lot of stress on your shoulder, you increase your confidence in using that grammar in your everyday life and you can focus more on Kanji study. It appears that my homeroom teacher wants me to move up to the next level, so I had to play dumb during the speaking test. I am not sure how it will influence the decision of my placement for the next quarter. The same problems as usual with this school.
Only one week left! On Monday, we receive grades of the placement test, on Tuesday, kanji test and on Wednesday final test on chapter 33 to 35.
Congratulation on your result !!
I also think it is a good idea to take some time for learning your lessons very well. Going too fast sometime just slow you down later…
