Not much to say

A new term started this week at Yamasa. I made small progress as I gain one level in the class. I could have been able to go to higher class, but I would have been death after the first week so it’s better to review stuff I already know. Especially those verbs form switching. Half of my class is made of new students who are here only for 3 months. Every 3 months it will be like this.

I have started to study Kanji more seriously and it’s good because I signed up for JLPT level 4 this December. Maybe I am going the easy way because some of my classmates signed for level 3, but I don’t want to have too much pressure from this test. That’s a big test that you can take everywhere in the world but only in December. You need to know a certain amount of Kanji, and that’s one of my weaknesses right now.

Life in my Yamasa’s apartment goes well, except for the weather that is very very very hot and humid. Today without “aircon†in the room its 35 degrees C and with “airconâ€Â(insert Japanese accent here)… well I am unable to put the temperature under 27. But the humidity is removed so it makes it more bearable.

Temperatures soar across Japan heralding start of summer
Temperatures soared across most parts of Japan on Friday as warm winds from the south heralded the start of summer, Meteorological Agency officials said.

In Tokyo’s Nerima-ku, the temperature reached 36.1 degrees Celsius.

Other cities also scorched with temperatures reaching 37.2 degrees Celsius in Ichihara, Chiba Prefecture, and 36.7 degrees in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture. In Kuwana, Mie Prefecture, the temperature hit 36.4 degrees Celsius.

Officials expect the temperature to reach 36 degrees Celsius in Nagoya, 35 in Fukuoka and 34 in Osaka on Friday.

As for the food I am able to cook more and more Japanese foods. Even with my small hot plate and my toaster oven I can do miracles.

I have finally applied for a “Work Permitâ€Â. I have made my mind. I will attempt to stay in Japan for a while. We shall see how it goes. I have been relaxing too much since I quitted my job in February. Now that I more familiar with the surroundings and the some of the Japanese customs, I think I can somehow earn enough for a second year of studies.

Wow a second year of study !! You seem to begin to like your life in there… if you move there permanently, I hope you’ll come see us once in a while !!

For the heat, we have the same problem here, except that we don’t have air conditionning. But, for sure, it’s not 37 degres. But the night are hot and it’s harder and harder to fall asleep.

Finally, I was wondering what kind of jobs are you looking for?
